Om produktet
Along the west coast of the South American continent, between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains, lies the wine paradise—Chile. The best areas for viticulture are Maipo Valley, Maule Valley and Colchagua Valley. Chile is a country with great diversity in microclimates. Colchagua Valley is the cradle of Chilean wine history, and the wine from here wins more awards than anywhere else in Chile. Colchagua Valley is divided into three sectors: an Andes sector influenced by the mountains, a central sector influenced by the plains, and a coastal sector influenced by the Pacific Ocean.
The sought-after winery Casa Silva is behind Casa Mayor wines. The story of Casa Silva began in the 19th century when Emilio Bouchon Poitevin arrived from Bordeaux and settled at Angustura Estate near San Fernando, Colchagua Valley. He began planting vines in the area, and this work was later continued by his children Abel and Antonio Bouchon. It was Abel who had the big visions, and it was mainly he who, together with his son-in-law Jorge Silva Valenzuela, drove the development that has brought the company to the position it holds today. Today, the 5th generation has been running Casa Silva since 1892.
